Question 1

How will the free month work at launch?

Accepted Answer

When Individa opens, founding families receive an invitation first. You choose monthly or annual billing and add a card through Stripe to start 30 days of Full, including WhatsApp logging. Your selected subscription is charged automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel beforehand through Manage billing in Account. If you cancel, your record stays readable and downloadable after access ends. Existing no-card trials keep their original end date and are never charged without checkout.

Question 2

What do I get when I subscribe?

Accepted Answer

Everything: capture on the website or by WhatsApp, the learning trail, the portfolio, Learning Patterns, career Signals, Bridges, Quests and a shareable tutor brief. Founding families pay £14.99 a month for one child while their subscription stays active, plus £4.99 a month for each additional child. The standard monthly price is £19.99 a month for one child, with the same additional-child charge.

Question 3

What happens if I stop paying?

Accepted Answer

Your child's record is never deleted because a subscription ends. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for, then the account becomes a read-only archive you can view, download or delete. Subscribe again at any time to carry on logging.

Question 4

What if I have more than one child?

Accepted Answer

Founding families pay £14.99 a month for the first child and £4.99 a month for each additional child. Two children cost £19.98 a month; three cost £24.97. The lifetime discount applies to the first child, with additional children charged at the standard rate. Every child keeps their own record.

Question 5

Can I pay annually?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Paying for the Full version annually gives you two months free: £199.90 a year for one child, plus £49.90 a year for each additional child.

Question 6

Why pay for this rather than keep a notebook?

Accepted Answer

A notebook can preserve the moment. Individa also helps you identify the learning within it, connect it to subject skills and build a portfolio over time. Learning Patterns brings together the interests and strengths that keep showing up, Bridges suggests gentle ways into the areas needing extra attention, and Quests offers projects drawn from what your child already loves. Explore the demo before deciding whether that would be valuable for your family.

Question 7

Can I leave, and take my child's record with me?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can cancel from the Account page whenever you like, and your plan runs until the end of the period you have paid for. Your content remains yours: download your data or delete your account at any time. If you would prefer help, email hello@individa.app.

Question 8

Will logging become another job for me?

Accepted Answer

You can capture a moment in a short text entry or voice note on the website, or simply send a WhatsApp message or voice note from your phone, wherever you are. If you forget to say how long something lasted, Individa just asks. There is no need to record every activity or account for every hour. A birthday card, baking together or a happy afternoon of making can all contribute to the picture. Reports need enough logged moments before patterns can emerge.

Question 9

Can everyday play really count as learning evidence?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Play can involve measuring, reading, testing ideas, solving problems, coordinating movement and working with others. Individa breaks down the subject topics and practical skills demonstrated in the moment you describe. A log documents what happened; it does not prove mastery of a whole subject or replace a formal assessment.

Question 10

Is Individa only for families who home educate?

Accepted Answer

No. Many families use Individa while their child attends school. They describe what happens after school, at weekends and in the holidays, then use Learning Patterns to see what their child keeps returning to and Quests to follow one of those interests properly. It sits alongside lessons and homework rather than replacing either, and it works just as well if you home educate, or if your family moves between the two.

Question 11

Do we have to follow a curriculum or recreate school at home?

Accepted Answer

No. Individa is built for curiosity-led learning, for families with children aged 2 to 14 whether they are home educated or attend school. It connects natural activities to recognisable subject skills without prescribing a timetable or syllabus. You remain free to choose how your child learns, with a clearer understanding of their growth.

Question 12

What if my child isn't drawn to writing, maths or another subject?

Accepted Answer

As the record develops, Bridges highlights the areas that need some extra attention and suggests ways in through what your child already loves, such as measuring materials for a build or writing instructions for a favourite game. A quieter area in the record may simply be something you have not logged, so it is a starting point for exploration rather than a judgement about your child.

Question 13

What if the AI gets the learning wrong?

Accepted Answer

You can review and change the reading before saving it, and edit any entry in the trail afterwards if something needs correcting. The interpretation depends on what you describe, and it may miss context or overstate a skill. Your observations guide the record. The same care applies to Learning Patterns, Bridges and Quests: use them alongside what you see and discuss with your child.

Question 14

Is it suitable for a neurodivergent child?

Accepted Answer

The profile can include diagnosed or suspected conditions and notes about how your child learns, if you choose to provide them. Health context is optional and requires explicit consent. Individa helps you record individual strengths, interests and experiences; it does not diagnose conditions, provide medical advice or replace professional support.

Question 15

Do career signals put children into boxes too early?

Accepted Answer

Signals are suggestions for exploration, based on the interests and skills appearing in the record, rather than predictions of a future career. A child drawn to building might enjoy trying design, engineering or making. Their interests can change, and the aim is to broaden what they can discover while keeping their choices open.

Question 16

Will this satisfy a local authority or a future school?

Accepted Answer

The portfolio brings together dated activities and the subject skills they demonstrate, which can help you explain your child's learning. You can download a tidy learning summary from the Portfolio page to share. It can support a conversation with a local authority or future teacher, but requirements vary and we cannot guarantee acceptance. Individa is not a legal or educational-compliance service.

Question 17

Can a tutor or another adult understand my child through the record?

Accepted Answer

The portfolio can help you explain your child's strengths, interests and areas to develop. Individa also includes a tutor brief, which you can edit before sharing through a read-only link that expires and can be revoked. Health context is included only if you separately allow it.

Question 18

Who can see my child's information, and how is it protected?

Accepted Answer

Your learning record is restricted to your account, unless you choose to share a brief. Health context is stored separately and is optional. Our team can review pseudonymised readings for quality checks, with direct identifiers removed and health flags excluded. Logged text is processed by hosted AI to identify learning. We do not sell your family's data or share it for advertising. Our privacy notice explains processing, safeguards and your data rights, including access, correction and deletion.
